Dr. Parviz K. Kavoussi

Dr. Parviz Kavoussi is a native Austinite who returned to his hometown to provide care for men in the Austin area and Central Texas in the areas of men’s health, male infertility, and sexual medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston followed by his residency training including 2 years of general surgery followed by 4 years of urology at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center, Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He went on to complete a 2 year accredited specialty fellowship in reproductive urology/andrology specializing in male infertility, sexual medicine, and microsurgery (vasectomy reversals/sperm retrievals/varicocele repair/spermatic cord denervations) at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He gained extensive experience in the management of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, low testosterone, vasectomy, and testicular pain, among other urological men’s health issues. Austin Center for Men’s Health is dedicated to providing the highest level of specialty care for men.

Besides his experience in clinical practice, Dr. Kavoussi remains very involved to help advance the field. He is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including clinical and basic science research. He has written multiple textbook chapters and has served as faculty to teach post-graduate courses at national meeting.

Dr. Kavoussi has been selected as an expert to peer review manuscripts for publication in multiple reputable scientific journals on male infertility and sexual medicine including the Journal of Urology, the Journal of Sexual Medicine, and U.S. Pharmacist.

He has put together and was the editor-in-chief for the first edition textbook of Clinical Urologic Endocrinology: Principles for Men’s Health, with a strong focus on low testosterone.

Dr. Kavoussi serves on multiple regional committees and was selected as a Texas Rising Star Superdoctor by Texas Monthly Magazine. He is active in volunteering in the community and has been involved in medical service in underserved third world countries.

He is a member of multiple professional organizations including: the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Male Reproduction in Urology, American Association of Clinical Urologists, American Society of Andrology, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, International Society for Sexual Medicine, and the American Urological Association, among others.
